Whether you’re unsure about sending letters or parcels within the UK or internationally, it can be a scary and overwhelming process at first. This article is to help address all your questions and worries and trust me, it’s super easy!
You can find post offices (shops) and post boxes (letters are collected from these regularly) all over Cardiff! To find your nearest one use the website branch finder: https://www.postoffice.co.uk/branch-finder
- Sending within the UK
Sending within the UK includes England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
If you’re sending within the UK, you will have to choose whether you want first class delivery or second class delivery! The differences between these are below:

How to address your mail:
Addressees’ name House number and street name Locality name Town Full postcode
- Write in capitals for clarity
- Sending internationally

Prices are determined by which world zone the recipient country is in:


- World Zone 1
- Countries that aren’t a part of Europe or World Zone 2.
- Generally covers countries in North America (except the USA), South America, Africa, the Middle East, the Far East and South East Asia (other than Singapore and Laos)
- World Zone 2

3. Track your mail
When sending mail, you can track your package using the Royal Mail’s Tracking system:

This can be super useful to keep an eye on your package and be notified when it arrives at its destination!
