The Christian Union is not a church, nor should it be prioritised over churches. Here are a few of the churches that you could get stuck into during your time at Cardiff. This isn’t a complete list and more churches will be added to it. If you are a church in Cardiff and wish to be listed here, we’d love for you to get in touch with us.

Calvary Chapel Church

Our church is very much a family church – in every sense of the term! With as many over 60’s as under 25’s, and an ever increasing number families with children making up the other half of our number, we are blessed to have people from every generation who are committed to loving and serving one another spiritually and practically, stirring one another up to love and good works, unto the glory of God!
Calvary Chapel is a fellowship of over 1700 churches worldwide. All Calvary Chapel churches share a common doctrinal basis, and a distinct philosophy of ministry, and are committed to the work of ‘making disciples’ through preaching the gospel and teaching the Bible. Website:
Highfields Church

Highfields Church is a large independent Evangelical church belonging to the FIEC group, and is located in the heart of Cathays. Our aim is to see God glorified as people are reached with the gospel and sent out on mission to share the Good News. We have a large student ministry here at Highfields with lots going on each week, including small group bible studies, a social after the evening service, 1:1’s and monthly student lunches!  At Highfields Church we believe your University years are crucially important to your faith, therefore we don’t want you to just survive through University, but to thrive in your relationship with God… so we would love to get to know you and support you in this! Website:

We have a wealth of opportunities for students wishing to grow their faith.  We are looking for people who want to change the city of Cardiff and the world beyond for the glory of God. Rooted in the local community in our youth work you can serve unchurched kids from Roath or serve sandwiches to the homeless on the Paradise Run or run craft mornings for local families. Website:

St.Marks, Gabalfa

For many years St Mark’s Gabalfa has been the leading Anglican evangelical church in Cardiff.  We offer a warm welcome and the opportunity for students to be part of a family church with good Bible teaching while they are studying in Cardiff.  Our curate, Jim Griffiths, has been involved in speaking at the CU and as part of the CU mission.  We are located on North Road just a short walk from Talybont. Website: http://www.stmarks-
